For team camp please reach out to Brittany.harry@siu.edu to reserve your teams spot in camp. At this time you will be sent a roster form that can include no more than 12 players.
We think that a 12 player maximum ensures that all the players on the team will have decently equal opportunity to get max reps and playing time during the camp tournament. We do not want to see lots of campers “sitting the bench” during the camp tournament when everyone is paying to participate.
While we like to keep teams at a 12-player maximum, please reach out to head coach Brittany Harry to discuss the scenario so that we can make it work for your team!
Yes, high school coaches bringing their teams to camp can schedule a time during check-in to meet and discuss the team with the camp coach.
Yes, we are working on team meal deals with local restaurants to streamline delivery processes for teams participating at Saluki Team Camp
Check-in will take place in the Main Entrance of Banterra Center.
Teams should bring their final roster to check in so that we can distribute the camp schedule and t-shirts for your team. In addition, any pending waivers or payments must be turned in at this time.
Yes, we have a few hotel recommendations in the hotel options tab on our website. But there are also lots of Airbnb and hotel options that are not listed. If you have specific questions feel free to reach out to us and we will do our best to guide you!
In addition to all the volleyball that will be played, we will also take your teams through team and individual goal setting, an SIU campus tour and bookstore stop for photo ops and most important the Saluki Spirit Stick Competition.
The Saluki Spirit Stick Competition will be based on team spirit, attitude and work ethic. Camp coaches will vote at the end of each session on which team won the award for that segment. That team will take possession of the spirit stick and decorate a portion of it with their team. The team that does the best job overall at camp will be awarded the stick at the end of camp to take home with them.
Yes, we will have individual camp awards and team awards for 1^st^ and 2^nd^ place of the gold bracket for each division (Varsity, JV and Freshman) If there are not enough teams for a separate division for JV and freshman we will combine those teams. Camp awards will take place at the end of camp before dismissal.
Yes, since we will be in Banterra for this camp there is plenty of seating available to observe camp.
